Daktronics has appointed Amar G. Subash as vice president of international sales, the company said, with the role effective October 21. Subash will be based in London and charged with directing the US display maker’s overseas sales strategy and expanding its presence in new markets.
Experience and immediate priorities
Subash joins Daktronics from Harman Professional Solutions, where he served most recently as vice president and general manager for EMEA and India. His background also includes senior leadership roles covering Asia-Pacific and India at Harman, and earlier management and finance positions at Tyco Fire & Security and Lucent Technologies India. The company said his appointment is intended to accelerate profitable growth and strengthen customer and partner relationships internationally.
“As Daktronics pursues targeted international expansion, Amar brings proven leadership in key global markets,” said Ramesh Jayaraman, president and CEO of Daktronics.
The CEO, Ramesh Jayaraman, noted a longstanding professional relationship with Subash and emphasized the new hire’s track record in building teams and cultivating customer relationships across the AV sector.
Leadership change and transition
Subash succeeds Judd Guthmiller, who is leaving the company after several years leading Daktronics’ international sales operations. The company said Guthmiller contributed to expanding Daktronics’ global footprint and developing the international sales team, and that he will assist with the leadership transition.
“I’m excited to join Daktronics and lead its international sales organization,” said Amar G. Subash. “The company has built a strong global presence across its business segments, and I look forward to working with our teams and partners worldwide to strengthen customer relationships, enter new markets, and create new opportunities for sustained profitable growth.”
The appointment follows recent company moves affecting its global footprint: Daktronics announced a major reorganization of global manufacturing that includes the closure of its facility in Ireland.
What installers and partners should note
- New international sales leadership: Subash will lead channel and partner engagement from London.
- Succession: Guthmiller is departing but will help during the transition.
- Context: The hire arrives soon after Daktronics’ announced global manufacturing reorganization, including an Ireland plant closure.
