PlexusAV has begun shipping the P-AVN-6-S, an IPMX product-certified transceiver built to bridge baseband SDI environments and modern AV-over-IP networks. The company positions the unit for live production, broadcast and professional AV installations where synchronization, signal integrity and interoperability are essential.
Hardware and codec flexibility
The P-AVN-6-S accepts native 12G-SDI input and offers 12G-SDI output, an HDMI loop out and dual SFP28 slots that support both 10GbE and 25GbE links. On the compression side, the transceiver can carry either uncompressed video or JPEG XS, letting integrators deploy a single model across high-performance cores and lower-bandwidth 1GbE segments where JPEG XS is preferred.
Network, timing and redundancy
Designed to operate on IPMX and SMPTE ST 2110 networks up to 4K60, the unit includes PTP-to-Genlock conversion to synchronize SDI outputs with IP timing. It also supports SMPTE ST 2022-7 hitless redundancy across separate primary and secondary network paths to help preserve continuity in demanding productions.
Audio, control and management
Audio transport options include both Dante and AES67 for up to eight channels. Discovery and connection management are handled via NMOS IS-04 and IS-05. For systems integration and automation, PlexusAV provides an open REST API, web-based configuration and compatibility with PlexusAV Visual Array for centralized device management.

The P-AVN-6-S earned IPMX product certification at the second IPMX Product Testing and Certification Event held in August in Geneva, an event hosted by the Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS), the Video Services Forum (VSF) and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). PlexusAV also cited a HETMA Gold Award recognizing the product as an AV-over-IP solution.
For systems that combine legacy SDI gear and newer IP infrastructure, the P-AVN-6-S consolidates media interfaces, timing conversion and network redundancy into a single hardware footprint, with control interfaces and centralized management designed to integrate into larger IPMX deployments.
