Perfect Vision & Sound, the Farmington-based custom audio-video company founded in 1992, has been acquired by Joseph Chordas IV and his son Joseph Chordas V, the company announced on October 26, 2026. Founder Robert Serio will remain with the firm in a support role to help ensure a smooth transition.

Leadership and background

Chordas IV brings a 35-year professional career to the business, including more than 25 years in the professional AV and streaming technology sector working for companies such as VBrick Systems, Optibase, Haivision, ZeeVee and Kramer. The new ownership said Chordas IV has experience working directly with distributors, professional AV integrators, system designers, consultants, manufacturers and end-user clients.

“When I left corporate America, I decided to chart a new path in collaboration with my son – leveraging our entrepreneurial spirit and where I could use my experience and love for the audio-video industry to assist local consumers and businesses,” said Joseph Chordas.

Services and strategic focus

The new ownership signaled plans to broaden the firm's product and service mix. Public comments from the company state the leadership intends to expand into the smart home market and add services including motorized shades, specialized lighting and video security. The statement also cited an intention to pursue projects in corporate, education and government markets.

“Bob has built a strong business with happy clients and enormous goodwill. We are fully committed to evolving the professional audio and video business by expanding our capabilities in the smart home market. We’ll also expand our services with an even wider selection of motorized shades, specialized lighting and video security – as well as by expanding our footprint into the corporate, education and government markets,” said Chordas.

Transition and continuity

Perfect Vision & Sound described the acquisition as a planned ownership change intended to preserve the company’s client relationships and service model. Serio, the founder, said he sought a buyer with a demonstrated, service-first track record who would maintain the company’s existing values and passion.
