Amazon has introduced the Echo Show 16, a wall-oriented smart display that combines household controls, entertainment and the company’s Alexa+ assistant. The device adds built-in Fire TV to the Echo Show format and is offered in two configurations, extending a product category commonly used to set timers, view security cameras and present household information.
The launch gives the Echo Show line a larger screen and a more entertainment-focused role. Amazon describes the Echo Show 16 as a single device for managing connected-home functions, viewing schedules and photographs, and accessing television content. Its position between a smart-home interface and a streaming display may also make it relevant in shared areas such as kitchens and living rooms, where information needs to be visible from a distance.
A larger display with a slimmer frame
The Echo Show 16 uses a 16-inch screen that Amazon says is approximately 10% larger than the display on the Echo Show 15. The aluminum frame is nearly 40% thinner, with slimmer borders around the screen. Amazon says the additional display area provides more room for household schedules, photographs, smart-home controls and entertainment.
A second version adds the optional Nanomatte finish. The finely textured glass surface is designed to reduce glare by more than 90%, according to Amazon. The finish is aimed at environments affected by reflections from windows or overhead lighting, an issue that can affect the readability of wall-mounted displays and other shared control points.
Fire TV and Alexa+ share the interface
The built-in Fire TV platform expands the Echo Show 16 beyond the household-information functions associated with earlier smart displays. Users can access entertainment content while retaining the device’s role for timers, camera views and other home information. Amazon is also positioning the upgraded Alexa+ assistant as part of the product’s combined smart-home and entertainment experience.
That combination places several functions on one screen rather than separating them between a control display and a television or streaming device. The extracted product details identify Fire TV and Alexa+ as central additions, while the larger panel is intended to improve visibility for controls, schedules, photos and video.
Pricing and availability
Amazon has announced two versions of the Echo Show 16. The company is accepting pre-orders and has said deliveries will begin later in the year. A US$100 pre-order discount is being offered, but the published standard prices are as follows:
| Version | Published price | Availability |
|---|---|---|
| Echo Show 16 | US$499.99 | Pre-orders; deliveries planned for later in 2026 |
| Echo Show 16 with Nanomatte finish | US$569.99 | Pre-orders; deliveries planned for later in 2026 |
- Display: 16 inches, approximately 10% larger than the Echo Show 15
- Frame: nearly 40% thinner than the previous model’s frame, according to Amazon
- Platform: built-in Fire TV and Alexa+
- Glare reduction: more than 90% with the optional Nanomatte finish, according to Amazon
The product therefore changes three parts of the Echo Show proposition at once: the physical display is larger and slimmer, the remote-entertainment layer is supplied by Fire TV, and the assistant layer is represented by Alexa+. Amazon’s published availability remains a later-in-the-year delivery window rather than an immediate shipment date, so the two configurations should be distinguished from products already available for installation.
