Huawei has launched the Router X2 Pro, a Wi-Fi 7 router designed to blend into a room rather than resemble conventional networking hardware. The enclosure takes the form of a book, with a magnetic spine that can be removed and replaced with different finishes.
The router is currently available in China for ¥588 ($88). Huawei has not confirmed an international launch, so the product’s availability through dealers or distributors outside China has not been established.
Design and network hardware
The Router X2 Pro has a light-gray body and uses a detachable magnetic panel for its spine. Huawei offers brown, green, white and wood-look options, allowing the visible section to be changed without replacing the router itself. The company also says users can make their own spine through crafting, painting or 3D printing.
Behind the decorative enclosure, the Router X2 Pro provides a dual-band wireless configuration covering 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. Huawei says the combined data rate can reach 3,570 Mbit/s. That figure is a manufacturer claim and represents the stated maximum across the two bands rather than a guaranteed throughput figure for an individual client device or installation.

App-based setup guidance
Huawei includes Bluetooth connectivity for a companion smartphone application. The app can be used to configure the router and provides recommendations for where to position it. The placement function adds software guidance to a product whose physical design is intended to make it less visually prominent in living spaces.
The main published specifications are:
- Wi-Fi 7 wireless connectivity across the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands
- A claimed combined rate of 3,570 Mbit/s
- One 2.5 Gbit/s Ethernet connection and three Gigabit Ethernet connections
- Peak operating power consumption of 18 watts
- Magnetic interchangeable spine panels in several finishes
Huawei’s launch positions the Router X2 Pro as a residential wireless access point with a less conspicuous appearance, rather than as a new category of network infrastructure. Its published hardware centers on the Wi-Fi 7 radio, the mix of multigigabit and Gigabit Ethernet ports, and smartphone-assisted configuration. For US custom installation businesses, the immediate channel detail is limited: the router is available in China, and Huawei has not announced international availability.
