Legrand | AV has released four C2G connectivity introductions for commercial AV and IT environments, covering long-distance USB-C, multi-presenter switching and HDBaseT extension. The products are aimed at installations in which cameras, conferencing systems, displays and presenter devices need to be positioned away from a host system or connected without repeated cable changes.
The release includes a family of three USB-C to USB-C active optical cables, a 3x2 triple USB-C input to dual HDMI output extender switcher, and two single-gang HDBaseT wall plate extender kits. Legrand | AV said the products can be specified individually or incorporated into broader Legrand room solutions. The announcement does not list pricing or an availability schedule for the individual products.
Active optical USB-C for longer runs
The C2G USB-C to USB-C AOC USB 3.2 Gen 2 Cable family is designed to extend full-function USB-C connectivity to up to 50 feet. According to Legrand | AV, each cable carries data, 4K video and power through one cable. Active optical construction is intended to support plug-and-play operation over the longer distance without adapters or drivers.
| Model | Length | Published capabilities |
|---|---|---|
| C2G32804 | 25 feet | USB-C, USB 3.2 Gen 2, 4K |
| C2G32805 | 35 feet | USB-C, USB 3.2 Gen 2, 4K |
| C2G32806 | 50 feet | USB-C, USB 3.2 Gen 2, 4K |
For integrators, the stated cable function brings video, data and power into the same specified run. The applications identified by Legrand | AV include cameras positioned away from a host, conferencing equipment, digital signage and kiosks. The cable family is also intended for spaces where standard USB-C cable lengths would not reach the required device location.
Switching and wall plate extension
The second connectivity category is a 3x2 triple USB-C input to dual HDMI output extender switcher. Its published input and output arrangement is intended for rooms with multiple presenters and personal devices, including conference rooms, classrooms and training spaces. The design gives three USB-C sources a shared switching point and provides two HDMI outputs for connected displays or other downstream equipment.
Legrand | AV also introduced two single-gang HDBaseT wall plate extender kits. The kits are positioned as matched wall plate solutions for installations such as classrooms and other AV environments where source and display connections must be presented at a finished wall location. The announcement groups video, USB and control signal distribution among the functions addressed by the new C2G products, but does not publish additional specifications for the individual wall plate kits.
“Long-reach USB-C, simple multi-presenter switching, and all-in-one HDBaseT wall plate kits address everyday challenges in AV and IT installations. Whether an integrator is placing a camera 50 feet from the host, keeping three presenters ready to share in a conference room, or finishing a classroom with a matched wall plate kit, these C2G solutions help deliver dependable performance while keeping installations clean and straightforward.”
Keith Honigford, product manager, Legrand | AV, described the products as responses to common placement and connection requirements in professional AV and IT spaces. The combination of active optical USB-C, USB-C source switching and single-gang HDBaseT extension gives installers several distinct connectivity formats within the same C2G launch, with the cable models providing the clearest published distance options for planning runs.
