Satechi has introduced the ExtendView USB4 Dual HDMI Multiport Adapter, a seven-port device designed to connect a Mac or Windows laptop to two external displays. The adapter sends video through two HDMI 2.0 outputs and uses a USB4 host connection, with both displays supported at up to 4K resolution and 60 Hz.
For cable planning, the host link is an integrated, braided USB4 cable measuring 20.1 centimeters. Satechi specifies bandwidth of up to 40 Gbps for that connection. Because the cable is built into the adapter rather than supplied as a separate detachable lead, the installation position needs to leave enough reach between the laptop and the hub.
Display and data connections
The two HDMI outputs are joined by four USB ports. Two USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 and two USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports each support data transfer rates of up to 10 Gbps. The USB-C data ports do not carry video, so they cannot be used as alternate display outputs. The dedicated USB-C power-delivery port is reserved for charging and also does not provide video.
Satechi says the ExtendView works with Mac and Windows laptops without additional drivers or DisplayLink software. That simplifies the software requirement for a laptop-based display system, but the published compatibility details include platform-specific limits for Apple hardware.
“The Satechi ExtendView USB4 Dual HDMI Multiport Adapter is priced at $119.99.”
Power delivery and Apple limitations
The power-delivery input accepts up to 140 W from an external charger and can deliver up to 125 W to the connected laptop. A system specification therefore needs to account for the charger as well as the adapter, laptop and displays; the adapter itself is not described as including an external charger.
Apple computer compatibility requires particular attention. Satechi identifies the base-model M1 and M2 Macs as supporting only one external monitor. Some older MacBook models support two external displays only when the laptop lid remains closed in Clamshell Mode. Those limits are separate from the adapter’s two-HDMI design and depend on the host computer.
- Two HDMI 2.0 outputs support up to two 4K displays at 60 Hz.
- Two USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 and two USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports provide up to 10 Gbps data transfer.
- The power-delivery port accepts up to 140 W and delivers up to 125 W to the laptop.
- The integrated USB4 cable provides up to 40 Gbps of host bandwidth.
Physical specifications and price
The adapter uses an anodized Space Black aluminum enclosure with an integrated cable-storage slot and an LED power indicator. It measures 140 x 59 x 20 millimeters and weighs 168.5 grams. The storage slot is intended for the built-in cable, keeping the short host lead with the adapter when it is not connected.

The ExtendView’s published price is $119.99. Its display configuration is based on HDMI 2.0 outputs and a USB4 host link, while the USB-C data ports are limited to peripheral connectivity. For installations using Apple laptops, confirming the specific M-series or older MacBook model remains necessary before specifying two independent external displays.
